THESE WALLS

We’re here in the same room
And yet I’m all alone
How can there be so many miles between us
When we’re both here at home
And I’d really like to talk to you
And ask about your day
But I’m too used to the silence
And to your pushing me away

These walls
Are so high
Why even bother
To try to break through
These walls
That separate us
They make me hate us
And wanna cry

We used to be so perfect
And now we don’t make sense
How does a love start out so beautiful
Then fade to indifference
And I really thought you loved me then
But somehow it went away
So we surrender to the silence
And we survive another day

These walls
Are so high
Why even bother
To try to break through
These walls
That separate us
They make me hate us
And wanna cry

We’re here in the same room
And yet I’m all alone
How can there be so many miles between us
When we’re both here at home
And I really thought I loved you then
Now I don’t know what to feel
And I’d rather face the silence
Than face the fact it wasn’t real

These walls
Are so high
Why even bother
To try to break through
These walls
That separate us
They make me hate us
And wanna die
